Do I like the products they offer? Do I like the way it looks? Does it fit my style of home?
Guarantees
Does the manufacturer offer a guarantee? What does the guarantee cover? (Be sure to read the fine print.) Weatherproofing, workmanship, surface coating, coastal areas - How long are these guarantees for? Who provides backing for the guarantee? (Will the company be around to honour the guarantee?)
Large, well established company?
How long have they been in business?
References and reputation
What recommendations and comments have you heard about them from past or recent customers?
Past work
What does some of their recent work look like? (The company should be able to provide you with a list of addresses to view.)
Price
Has a written quotation been provided? Have you checked that all required work is covered in the quote?
Contact
Have you had face-to-face contact with someone from the company? Did they carry out a thorough inspection of your roof? Have they explained the entire roof system and installation process to you? Have you meet the person who will supervise the job during installation?
Character
What has their level of service, professionalism, manner and friendliness been like to date?
When can they do the work?
How quickly can they do the work and how long will the work take?
Move out?
Do you need to move out during the work (and thereby incur extra expense)?
Accommodating of needs?
How will they accommodate your needs and reduce inconvenience to you? Will they clean up when they have finished and remove all rubbish from site?
